On the Move Again...

Time for another trip - this time to Vancouver, Oregon, and Parksville...

[More:]

We left Saint-Renan early in the morning of Sunday, 24 September, flew to Paris, checked into the Hôtel des Mines on boulevard St. Michel, and spent the afternoon at the Rodin Museum (here are some photos). On Monday morning we had breakfast across the street from Jardin de Luxembourg at Café Rostand, made hotel reservations for our visit next months with Doug's parents, and wandered around Notre Dame until it was time to go to the airport. Here are a few photos from our walks around Paris.

The flights from Paris to Montréal, and then on to Vancouver were fine, but long. We had bulkhead seats with lots of legroom on the Paris-Montréal leg, a real bonus. Deidre & Bob picked us up at YVR.

We only stayed in Vancouver one day, just long enough to remind ourselves that Kitsilano's a pretty cool neighbourhood to live in too (i.e. it stacks up well compared to Saint-Renan, and Paris's 5th arrondissement). Wednesday it was off in a rental car to the Timberline Lodge at 6000 ft above sealevel on the south flank of Mt. Hood in Oregon for the Eastern Pacific Ocean Conference (EPOC).

We returned to Vancouver on Saturday 30 September, and today went to the BC Randonneurs annual general meeting at Fort Langley. It was good to see cycling friends that we haven't seen in a few months, and to ride the familiar roads of the Fraser Valley in the autumn sunshine. Here are a few photos from before the ride.
