Medieval Festival in St Renan

Saint-Renan Medieval Festival

Last weekend was the Medieval Festival in St. Renan. The town has 100's of costumes and many people have their own.

[More:]

It started officially (they'd been building things and covering up business signs with old signs for days) on Saturday morning in the middle of the weekly market. It was a fascinating justa-position.

Saturday morning there were a bunch of bands playing in the main square. After doing our shopping (it was market morning) we checked out the archery, the Turkish encampment and the jousting. In the evening we had roast pig at the tent with more music.

Sunday we did some work but did watch the parade. Lots of costumes. The most typical people, the most ordinary people, got sandwiched between the belly-dancers (not quite sure of the accuracy of their presence) and the horses. They got missed a lot (including by our pictures). Then more music. Thankfully it ended early as the night before was a bit noisy.
