Susan & Doug's Adventure in France

Susan and Doug moved to France at the beginning of July 2006, for a 6 month sabbatical leave.

[More:]

In work terms, Susan is spending the time as a visiting scientist at the Institut français de recherche pour l'exploitation de la mer (IFREMER), a French government research lab located just west of Brest, in Brittany, in the north-west cornner of France, on the Atlantic coast. Doug is working as Susan's (unpaid) research associate, doing software development on her bio-physical model of the Strait of Georgia.

That could well be that last thing you'll see about work in this blog.

What it's really about is our adventure of living in France for 6 months, learning the French language and culture, enjoying the food, wine, and cycling, seeing the sights, and did we mention cycling...

Stay tuned for thoughts about all of that written by either or both of us, and photos of some of it that we'll post on Flickr and that you can get to from the links in the posts and on the sidebar.
