South-Central Alberta Tour
We spent the week after the summer solstice doing a “super-tour” of south-central Alberta. Our definition of a super-tour is to travel light, stay in motels, eat in restaurants, and ride 150 to 200 km a day for at least part of the tour.
The goals of the trip were to see part of the country we’d never been to, train for the Rocky Mtn 1200, and visit the Canadian Badlands and “Dinosaur Central” around Drumheller.
The trip went like this:

- Sun 22-Jun-08: Calgary to Banff - 137 km
- Mon 23-Jun-08: Banff to David Thompson Resort - 186 km
- Tue 24-Jun-08: David Thompson Resort to Sundre - 218 km
- Wed 25-Jun-08: Sundre to Drumheller - 175 km
- Thu 26-Jun-08: Drumheller - 13 km
- Fri 27-Jun-08: Red Deer River Valley - 61 km (DJL), 97 km (SEA)
- Sat 28-Jun-08: Drumheller to Calgary - 138 km
- Sun 29-Jun-08: Calgary to Vancouver
